Erie County Coalition for Local Resources will operate a Friday afternoon Farmers' Market from 3-6pm on the corner of W. Market and Jackson Street (also called Jackson Street Parking Lot). See map:

Hello everyone! Today we’ve decided to have a customer appreciation in honor of a great season at the Farmers’ Market. So, if you print out the image on the left or mention this post you’ll receive a $1 off any item at the market today! Yes, that even includes getting a $1 off all those baked goods, The Little Red Truck Farm’s delicious drinks and/or all that beautiful produce the farmers bring each week. Community members and tourists gathered Friday afternoon – 07/30/10 – at the Sandusky Bay Famers’ Market to experience this seasons July harvest in the Jackson Street Parking Lot. The many faces and available goods were captured by The Erie Wire’s photographer, Jenna Martin, to be viewed in a Picassa Slideshow. On July 30, nationally touring musicians Coco & Lafe performed a free show to create awareness about local food and farmers markets. They are playing at 100 farmers’ markets across the U.S. this summer, and Sandusky Bay Farmers’ Market was on their list of performances!

Also this was the sixth week for Kids Art Fest, where kids were loaded with paint and brushes to create their own rendition of a “Art Nouvea” and Prinmaking painting. The Sandusky Bay Farmers’ Market website reads:
Every Friday from June 18th to August 6th the Farmers’ Market will host a Kids Art Fest where children of all ages can come and learn how to throw paint like Picasso. Athena Pribanic, a fine arts student at the Columbus College of Art and Design, will be instructing the event week to week. Painting instructions are provided from 3-6pm (kids can arrive at anytime to participate).
At the end of the eight weeks, the Farmers’ Market will showcase all the kids paintings (August 6th). Afterward, the paintings will be rotated in local businesses to be sold as a fundraiser for the program and for the promotion of arts and cultural events in Erie County, OH. Bids will be taken on each painting until September 30th.
Anyone interested in placing a bid can do so as of today by emailing – sanduskybayfarmersmarket@gmail.com – with the details of your name and contact information, along with the total of your bid. All paintings will be displayed at Mr. Smith’s Coffeehouse and the new Crush Winebar in downtown Sandusky. Everyone will have the chance to bid on the paintings by filing their information into folder located nearest to the paintings.
